Because all things come
from our relationship with God, worship is the very heart of our
Parish. In worship we praise Father, Son and Holy Spirit by participating
actively in prayer, praise, and song. Lay Readers, Acolytes, Crucifers,
Lesson Readers, Lay Eucharistic and Ministers, overhead projectionists,
ushers, choir members, and instrumentalists all commit to God their
part in worship along with the priest. The sovereignty and love
of God is expressed in many ways. The music of angels can sometimes
be heard as we enter into adoration of our Heavenly Father. Prayers
are raised for our community, for others and for the world. The
Eucharist of purest love offers us forgiveness, hope, regeneration,
and witness to His power and healing.
This year we have an
average of forty-two people attending worship each week who wholeheartedly
sing a combination of traditional and praise hymns at services.
A number of Nations are now represented in our congregation. The are from Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana and the Ukraine. At rehearsals, our choir director guides the thirteen-member choir
to explore the spiritual & musical interpretation of each anthem
so it may be "a sweet, sweet sound to His ears." To many
at Christ Church, it is believed that singing is "praying twice
to the Lord." We are also gifted by God to be led at a Celebration
Eucharist by our parish instrumentalists as we sing praise hymns.
The Family Choir usually sings at the Celebration Eucharist and
church school children and teachers stay in worship for the service.
In our worship services
we rotate Rite II A, B, C, D options and Rite I.
Church School teachers
and children leave before the sermon to go to classes. The Senior
Class stays for the sermon and then leaves for Church School
